Hey, I'm Ashley Swaddling

A little but about me:
I live in Surrey and I am turning 16 in like a month and a bit (yay!!). I go to Fraser Heights High School. I have grown up in a Christan home and I have had God in my life since I was 6. I have loved God every since then but in the past 4 years I have began to take my faith more seriously. I go to Parkland Fellowship church and I go to their youth group which is one of my favorite places to be. I went on Missions trip to Mexico last year which was amazing and awesome. I love to play soccer!!!! I love to play all sports. I also love to read! I have only been to Qwanoes during a fall camp with my youth group which is a weekend. I am very excited to be a CIT but I am also nervous! I cannot wait to grow deeper in my relationship with God and make some really great friends. I have gone to a summer camp called Anvil Island so I am familiar with the camp experience. One very exciting thing about my life right now is that I am getting baptized on Easter Sunday!!! It is very exciting for me! So that is a bit about me and if you want to know anything else just ask :)

JESUS FOR LIFE! AND IF IT IS HIS WILL, DRAMA!

Hey everyone. I know my picture is a little large but I am still figuring out the unnatural phenomenon of blogger. Anyway I am so excite to see you all this summer, and I have been very happy to see some of your entries and how you are all living with god.
My hobies include drama and music. My whole life I have been an arts finatic. I especially love piano I started playing in a restaurant this year and it has been tons of fun. The lord blessed me enough and I was on my church's worship team when I was 12. The picture is of me and my friends Stephen and Jack at Drama Festival where we were doing some pretty sweet improv. I am the one on the left in the front wearing the converse and cardigan.

I was born into a christian family who was blessed very financially which I thank the lord for everyday. However, as I have realizes through my life, it is hard for the rich man to go to heaven. I have had many things come in the way of the lord and I some of which will never go away, I would really appreciate your prayers. There is a lot more to my story, but in the example of y'all I will save it for summer.
I starting coming to qwanoes 5 years ago and each time I have been amazed at god's work in others and myself. I originally applied as a junior counselor, but due to policies and the grace of god I was not given the job. At the time I didn't understand why they would want me to do something so newbish as CIT. I prayed and realized that my lack of faith was causing me to question a great program like CIT and I needed to set aside my worries to hopefully fulfill god's plan for me this summer.
So ya, I am really excite because I come from the small northern and isolated town of Prince Rupert, BC. I also hope that their our more guys going because I think it would be awesome to have some brothers and sisters in this amazing program. Anyway I need to let god look after that worry. Finally, I did my profile in green because it represents growth in god.
Keep Praying,
Matthew

Hey, Do You Know Me?

My name is Katie Iliffe, it's a very strange last name, I know. Its pronounced eye-lih-ff.

I love being with my friends and my family. I love being with people, but I like my alone time as well, you know? I love spending time with everyone, but God most importantly. I believe that I have to work everyday at my relationship with Him and even if I mess up, I can just tell Him what I did and He will keep being my best friend no matter what I do.

Some hobbies of mine are that I love being with my loved ones (i.e. friends and family), I love playing soccer and other sports, I like dancing randomly to music or with no music, I love reading, I love Disney movies, and I love a whole bunch more random things.

Some random things about me:
-My favourite colour is green
-My favourite numbers are 19 and 21
-I love lyrics to songs
-I love country music
-I love quotes

I'm not quite sure what else to write, but I am looking forward to meeting everyone this summer.

Katie <3>

PS I am the one in the middle with the red jacket on.

This is me...

Hey everyone, my name is Janelle Dodds! :)

I'm 16 (turning 17 in the summer) and live in Tsawwassen on the mainland. I applied to become a CIT because I thought that this would be an amazing opportunity for me to grow in Christ. I believe it will help me develop more leadership skills, my bible knowledge and create some awesome new relationships. I also absolutely love helping people and being around kids. I love sharing God's word and I also believe it is important to witness to others and serve God. I know this has been something that God has been pushing me to do, so I am ready to rise to the challenge.

A little bit about me...I grew up in a Christian home and accepted Jesus into my heart at a very young age. However, my faith really became my own when I was probably about 13. I have been through some seriously rough times in my life. My mom was diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder, my dad broke his back and couldn't go to work and I got extremely sick. At first, I was angry with God and wondered why he wouldn't heal my parents. But I later realized that this was going to help me so much. I learned to be thankful for everything I had and this also helped me witness to others. God truly blessed me with a greater understanding.

Ever since I started going to my current youth group (SDBC :D ), I have continued to come closer to Christ and built some amazing relationships. I love going to youth groups and hanging out with my friends. I also enjoy going outdoors, especially going fishing. I actually have an obsession for fish. I know--it's kind of random (I once had almost 100 fish...no joke). I also have a passion for music and love dancing. I love singing and am currently teaching myself how to play guitar. Basically, I like a lot of things. But I should probably stop talking about myself now, save some of this stuff for summer. ;P

Can't wait till summer!!
117 days :D

P.S. The picture of me is with flower girls from my sister's wedding. She just got married to a wonderful man in February and I was her Maid of Honour. :)

About me number two!

Hey! My Name is Melissa Lebus. I'm 16 years old, and I live with my parents and two younger siblings in a small town called Ladner in the mainland. I didn't come to know Christ until last year because I had grown up in a non-christian household for the first 14 years of my life, but this past summer, I was baptized on Sept. 13, 2009. One of the best days of my life! During that year, God blessed me with many people in my life, a home away from home, and he really showed me how much he cares. I'm just always so greatful to him for everything he has given me. There is more to the story, but I will save the rest for the summer, which is getting closer everyday!!! :D

The reasons I applied for the CIT program is that I feel I will gain good leadership skills, make many new friends, have a better understanding of the bible, and just create so many unforgettable memories! :) I'm so excited for this summer, it's all I'm thinking about! I'm ready for an adventure!

Other stuff to know about me: I am a kind, caring, fun person. I am happiest when I'm at my bible study groups learning Gods word or at church, and I also love going to my youthgroup hanging out with my friends who are just amazing! I also enjoy cooking and baking, drawing and painting, meeting new people, hanging out with my family, and just having fun in general.

Hope you enjoyed!

~Melissa
P.S., I'm the one in the Blue sweater :)

A bit about me...

Hi, my name is Brittney Siewert. I am 16 years old and I live in Tsawwassen on the mainland. I applied to be a CIT this year partially because I want build new friendships and learn to become a better leader. At the end of the program I hope to have gained a better knowledge of the Bible and to have many new relationships. I became a christian when I was 13 and was recently baptized this past september. I often feel more comfortable and happier at my church youth group than I do at home. I did not grow up in a christian home so when I became a part of that new community it really changed me. I do not want to reveal too much of my story though :) I am very much looking forward to hearing other stories from people around the province. I have never been to summer camp before so I am extremely excited for this summer!!!

A little bit about me... My friends are soooooo most important to me. I have a group of the most amazing close friends that I owe so much to. Some of the things that I love to do are scrapbooking, trying out new recipes, and finding creative new ways to make my bedroom look better ( I am currently in the process of painting one of my walls) though I rarely get time to do these things. I have been in french immersion since kindergarten. I love to travel. Some of the place I have been are Mexico, Thailand, Hawaii and Japan.

In case you are wondering, the picture I included is from a Tobymac concert where we dressed up like gangsters. I am the one on the furthest left.
I can not wait to meet all you soon!
Brittney♥
