This is me...

Hey everyone, my name is Janelle Dodds! :)
I'm 16 (turning 17 in the summer) and live in Tsawwassen on the mainland. I applied to become a CIT because I thought that this would be an amazing opportunity for me to grow in Christ. I believe it will help me develop more leadership skills, my bible knowledge and create some awesome new relationships. I also absolutely love helping people and being around kids. I love sharing God's word and I also believe it is important to witness to others and serve God. I know this has been something that God has been pushing me to do, so I am ready to rise to the challenge.
A little bit about me...I grew up in a Christian home and accepted Jesus into my heart at a very young age. However, my faith really became my own when I was probably about 13. I have been through some seriously rough times in my life. My mom was diagnosed with a very rare neurological disorder, my dad broke his back and couldn't go to work and I got extremely sick. At first, I was angry with God and wondered why he wouldn't heal my parents. But I later realized that this was going to help me so much. I learned to be thankful for everything I had and this also helped me witness to others. God truly blessed me with a greater understanding.
Ever since I started going to my current youth group (SDBC :D ), I have continued to come closer to Christ and built some amazing relationships. I love going to youth groups and hanging out with my friends. I also enjoy going outdoors, especially going fishing. I actually have an obsession for fish. I know--it's kind of random (I once had almost 100 fish...no joke). I also have a passion for music and love dancing. I love singing and am currently teaching myself how to play guitar. Basically, I like a lot of things. But I should probably stop talking about myself now, save some of this stuff for summer. ;P
Can't wait till summer!!
117 days :D

P.S. The picture of me is with flower girls from my sister's wedding. She just got married to a wonderful man in February and I was her Maid of Honour. :)

That's so cool that you love music and dancing. I love it as well. Are there any instruments that you play? (Voice Included)
Thanks, I defintely could not live without music. I'm not a pro dancer, but I love it. (I took tap for 3 years) I played piano for about 5 years but stopped in grade 8. Yea, I sing and am now attempting to teach myself how to play guitar.
I saw in your post you play piano, how long have you been playing for?
11 great years! Good luck learning guitar, but I'm sure if you can't figure it out someone at qwanoes will be able to. Btw, are you in CIT 1 or 2 nobody can figure it out about each other.
Wow thats a long time! Good for you for sticking with it! Yeah learning guitar is harder than I thought, but it's coming along. I'm in CIT 1, you? Which weeks/weekends are you doing OSC for?
