Trying this again.

Hey, my name is Michelle and I am 15 years old. I live 15 minues away from Camp Qwanoes in Duncan. I'm in grade 10, and go to a Christian School. I was raised in a Christian home all my life and accepted Jesus at a very young age.
I decided to apply for CIT this year because I have really struggled with my relationship with God in the past few years, and even my life. I feel I am on the mending road and felt ready to take a huge step forward in my relationship with Christ in hopes that I can not only grow closer with Him, but with those around me. I have hopes that after CIT and camp this summer I can return home being a leader to my friends, and also bringing my friends closer to Christ.
I'm really involved in the church that i go to. I go to church on Sundays, and Bible study on wednesdays aswell as youth group on fridays. I love my friends in the youth group and have very close relationships with a few of them. Church functions are the highlight on my week.
I love being with people. I also love kids. I have been babysitting since I was 10..aswell as working in the Church nursery. I absolutely adore the little girls next door, and pretty much consider them my little sisters.
I am really interested in swimming, i've been a competitive swimmer for 7 years. 6 years of summer swimming, and 2 1/2 of winter. (currently in the middle of the season). I've been involved in many coaching programs.
I love to scrapbook and read. I love being creative and painting (though, im not very good at it!). I love writing. I write a bit of poetry, and have wrote some stories in my past. I have depended on poetry very much in the past couple years as very much has happened to make my life hard. I love playing basketball, and play for the senior team at my school. and most of all, I love being with my friends!!

M!!

My name is M Letourneau!! I am sixteen years old. I changed my name from "Tess" to "M" when I was fourteen. Ever since I came to know Jesus, I have identified strongly with Paul in the New Testament. As most of you probably know, Paul used to be King Saul, persecutor of Christians. When his life was turned around by Jesus, he was renamed Paul to signify the huge turn-around his life took. Like Paul, my life completely changed when I came to know Jesus, and I am now known as M.

I live on an acerage in Nanoose Bay with my mom, dad, two brothers, and sister. My mom and siblings go to church, but my dad doesn't. I am incredibly blessed to have an awesome church family (the Meeting Place!). I love spending time with my friends from youth group. My favorite things are quiet rainy days, spending time with God and good friends, playing and teaching all kinds of music, and the magical quality of October sunlight. I have felt really called by God to C.I.T. this summer and I look forward to getting to know everybody! Jesus has changed my life, especially through the hard times and pain, and turned tough experiences into beautiful lessons, and I am ready to go wherever He leads me.

Summer is in 152 days!!

Heey, so my name is Tara.

I live in a small town called Lake Cowichan here on Vancouver island. I am 15 years old and go to the only high school in town. I live in a non-christian home with my parent's, brother, and 3 foster kids. I have lived in Canada for 5 years going on 6 and have been going to camp since. Before I lived here I lived in Mexico for 10 years but that's a different story! I don't want to tell my whole story and tell everything about me because well I want to save that for the summer! Which is coming soon! But here is the jist of it..I became a christian at camp but didn't really know what to do once I left camp. I didn't start believing and trying to live my life for him until 2008. Although I knew he was there I didn't think he had time for me, I thought he wasn't right for me and didn't want my parent's to hate me because of the choice I had made. I struggled a lot throughout the year and fell into major sin. I started doing drugs and drinking and just doing things that weren't right. I applied to work in dish pit last year but was not accepted which I totally understood yet I was angry with god because I thought he would want me out of this town. Threw the summer I kept traveling down the wrong and did some things that I really regretted. I went to youth camp and had time to deal and figure out my life and had an amazing week. I didn't want to go back home and be the same person. I made my mind up that I was going to be different and have been living my life for him better than before since. Although some days I feel frustrated with god and want to go back to my old life I know that is not god's will for my life! There has been days since summer that I have struggled and let the devil get a foot's hold but quickly coming out of it. God has given me a passion for children, right now I am volunteering twice a week at a kids/youth club that the community center here in town runs and am loving it. He has given me love to give to the broken kids that come into my home and I can't wait to see what else he has in store for me!!

Anyway umm there isn't really much to me...I have colorful hair..Right now it's purple, pink and blue. I like to play the piano, I love to hang out and talk and I love music and can't go long without it.and I really enjoy random adventures!!. Oh and I love God that's the most important one!!

P.s I am the one on the right I think :P I'm the one wearing the jacket! That's also my facebook picture so yea add me if you want!

My name is Haley Lackie. I am 15 years old.
I live like 15 min's away from Qwanoes. My mom has worked there since I was like 6, and she still does.
I go to Chemainus Secondary I am in grade 10, I am also on the Sr. Girl Basketball team. I Play Drums I think this is my 4th or 5th year (I dont remember) I really enjoy it.
I concentrate better when I listen to music (Like most teenagers these days), Toby Mac and Britt Nicole are my favorite.


I Love Art, Hanging out, Talking, Writing... Basketball (Crap I already said that), I'm easy to get along with, I Love making new friends, But most of all I Love Jesus! :)

I dont want to give to much away so that is it for now! :)

Summer's Coming!

Okay, maybe you are not dreaming of summer yet, with the Winter Olympics taking up all the air time and no daffodils yet. But summer is coming, and if you are on this blog it probably means you have already applied to be a CIT in July or August, so you must be doing some dreaming!

This Blog is yours, as CIT's of Summer 2010. Use it to introduce yourself to the rest of the crew, show us some photos, even stay in touch after the summer. Remember that it is just written communication, and you will be amazed when you finally meet one another in person and discover how much more you have to discover about one another. But let this be a head start.

Me? I'm Jim Badke, an old bald guy who's been hanging around Qwanoes a long time now. I have watched hundreds of CIT's like you come and have their lives turned upside down - in a good way - as they followed Jesus to Qwanoes. I hope you get to be one of them. Along with me will be a few other leaders whom we are selecting right now - the kind of people you will want to get to know and follow.

We want you to have the opportunity to think through many of the issues of living in your world as a follower of Jesus, so you can become a better leader there.
